Curly Hair Tips

I got difficult hair. Not as difficult as it could be, but difficult none the less.
It's short, curly, frizzy. Not an equation for easy hair days.
disclaimer: i'm not a hair stylist, just a girl with curly hair.

Basic curl tips I live by:
-Don't use shampoo often. (2-3 times a week)
As my hair's a bit dry, stripping it of natural oils isn't a great idea.
-Pat dry with a cotton tee, instead of a wrapping it up with a towel.
This will help prevent breakage and frizz
-Argan oil, Argan oil, Argan oil & blow out serum. I'm a big holistix fan.
(or Moroccan oil.) Helps prevent breakage and frizz, protects from heat. Increases shine. and is amazing.

I use two tools when I style my hair curly; a diffuser and a very thin straightner.
the thinner the straighter, the tighter curls you can m(f)ake.
you can see how little it is in my hand

Here's my hair after I've blow dried it.
It's all over the place I got a lot of pieces on top that stay straight or go real frizzy.
but as you can see a lot of my hair is real curly.

With my little straightener I can take frizzy pieces and put the curly back in.

I find use the little straightener helps me smooth out frizz,
and get a bit more control over the style and shape of my hair.

Four eyes. Four eyes. I need glasses to see.

(if you don't get that cloudy with a chance of meatballs reference...watch it. now. and then 100x. its my favorite movie, btw.)

Story time.

I always thought I had great eye sight. It was something I was fairly proud of.  One day at UVU they were doing free eye screenings, as I had some time to spare, I said "Hey, I got some time to spare." I took the eye test, and failed on the last two lines. Failed miserably.

I took the time to go to the eye doctor to find that I'm very much near sighted. (things far are super blurry.)
I always just thought they were  blurry because they were far. Anyways, my glasses came in yesterday and I've been asked multiple times if they are real. (I guess I have that, I would wear fake glasses vibe. Probably because I do have fake glasses.)

I'd like to take this opportunity to show you 1 pair of my glasses (I have two). And some better shots of my new hair color. If you want to see how dark it was before click here.

also i just realized how dark my skin is compared to the link above...thannnnkkkk you san deigo.

my hand just did that.

and again. get over it.

Happy Sunday Guys.

Thrifty finds and welcomed opinions

A couple weeks ago I went thrifting, I found a few gems.
This blue striped button up with embroidered flowers. I'm basically obsessed.
However, it is a little bit big, so if any of you have quick sinching tips they'd be welcomed :)

I also picked up this amazing clock and thermos. I'm so happy about it.

Yesterday I was very productive, meaning I crafted. I'll have a DIY up for that little flower wreath hopefully tomorrow! Also I'm coloring and cutting my hair on tuesday, I'm not looking to cut too much off, but the color will be a bit lighter.
Have any of you heard the term "Bronde"? Meaning brown blonde? I'm obsessed. Here are some examples of what i'm thinking! Opinions are welcome! 1, 2, 3, 4

I'd love to hear what you all have to say :)

Also I'm watching Dan in Real Life again..Seriously the best soundtrack.
I hope you're also having a lovely sunday

Modcloth's Uniquely You Challenge: Winterberry Tart Coat

Modcloth & Sincerely Peachy: Uniquely You Challenge

Modcloth & Sincerely Peachy: Uniquely You Challenge by sincerelypeachyblog featuring flat shoes

This week I'm participating in Modcloth's uniquely you challenge featuring the Winterberry Tart Coat.

The first time I saw this coat I could have passed out.
Maroon is sort of my thing.
I can't get enough of it, and those who see my day to outfits would confirm that statement.

Honestly, I'm not one to shy away from wearing Christmas colors every day of December, so I did not hesitate for one second to pair this coat with some green tights. And this cream dress (aka my kyrptonite.) from H&M has my drooling a bit. Oh and the t-strap flats that have been on my to buy list for way too long. It's a problem. This outfit, for me at last, is the right amount of festive and dressy for the many Christmas parties that need attending.

If you want to fall in love and treat yo self (or a friend, or yourself) don't hestitate to visit Modcloth.

Summer fashion inspiration

It's finally starting to feel more like summer in this Utah place.
I, for one, could not be more happy.
I love spending summer with my curly hair in shorts, and sandals.

New seasons always leave me wanting to add too many things to my wardrobe.
Whether bought or made these things are on my list.

1. Lace trim shorts
2. Sea inspired hair pieces
3. Printed Suspenders (I lost the link, but its from chictopia, let me know if you see it!)
4. Flower applique tee
5. Fruit purse

What summer fashions do you love right now? I wouldn't mind a reason to take a trip to the mall :)

DIY Studded Muscle Tee.

Muscle tee's are the greatest.
For me? They are a stylish way to be so comfy all the time.
I went to buy one at the mall, and it was 25$

and I said I can make this for 5$ and so I did.
Supplies:
Tshirt: 3$ (i got mine from the thrift store)
Studs: 6$ (for a pack of 20)
Scissors

1. Find a graphic tee. Scour your local thrift store, or brotherly closet.

2. Cut along the dotted lines

 2. Measure out where you want your studs,
poke the prongs through the fabric and press them down on the other side.

4. Be hardcore.

Happy tuesday guys!

Eyelash extensions!

I finally got some.
I've been debating for months.
I couldn't be happier.

Lazy me, loves anything that helps me look better without even trying!

I seriously woke up late this morning, and my first thought was, "welp guess i'm not looking decent today!"
Check that! I look all done up thanks to some long luscious eyelashes!
Really, not to be conceited or anything...
but everytime I look in the mirror now I can't help but bat my eyes a bit!

I got them done by my friend, and best friends sister-in-law Nikki!
The process is long,
but what can you expect when you're gluing little eyelashes to all of your littler eyelashes!
She was so great and keeping me entertained,
even putting on an Ingrid radio station via pandora. (always a great choice.)

Here's a before and after.
and a creepy webcam after. ;)

happy day lovely ladies. (and or men...if you're there.)

p.s. i took some pictures with the best friend on saturday. Can't wait til we finish them so I can show you!

new new, new new.

I've been getting new things.
(I blame this coming spring rather than my frequent shopping trips)

I decided this week I'm going to share these new things with you.
I got a new hair cut, you can see a better shot here. I also finally found some glasses to replace my old broken clear lenses. (similar here) And last but definately not least, I got new lipstick. I feel like there's few commitments bigger than buying a new lipstick, you can hope, but hardly ever know. I decided on a dark dark maroon, called wine and forever

Easy peasy right? Try it. I dare you ;)

DIY Fox Sweater!

I thought I'd end this year with one of my favorite projects of the season!
I have been wanting one for so long!

And since there are so many ways to make easy ones I could never talk myself into buying one!
Well I finally buckled down and made one! Hope you like it!

So....
I have this sweater that I love so much.
It also has this stain.

The stain is too big to still wear it, too small to throw it out.
So I decided to get crafty.

I cut out a pattern, and left a half inch or so around the edge

Next, I ironed my edges, and sewed them down.

Figured out where I wanted my pieces to lie.

I'm no sewing expert, and sometimes (a lot of times) rely on fabric glue.

Last but not least, I took some black sequined trim and make a nose, and eyes via hot glue

It's not exactly what I imagined, but I'm very happy with it!

happy new year!
