What's in my purse/Lets be friends.

I was reading secret life of bee a little bit ago, and I discovered every time I read her blog I'm all like "I want to be friends with her." As I read her blog I feel like I'm getting to know her, and I don't think my blog is like that. Most likely cause I'm awkward and try and keep most of the world from seeing that, so I thought I'd start out small. (slowly but surely, you'll all know how weird I am, and we'll be friends) So, what I keep in my purse.* cause that says a lot about me? correct me if I'm wrong.

*this post was prompted by Credit Card Insider, a great place to go if you're a child like me and need to be educated on how credit cards, credit, and debt work. 

I don't keep a lot of things in my purse. Mostly because I'm doing this whole "go to school 5 days a week" thing so I'm always carrying a backpack. but my purse holds my easy access go to essentials.

1. My wallet. I don't need nothing fancy which I find most wallets are, so this was like my dream. I got it at target and I'm obsessed. Easy access to my cards? but a cute little strap to hold them in. one big zip up pocket for cash, coin, and stamp cards to jamba and cafe rio. 

check out that 1, rollin in the dough man. 

2. Color burst lip butter. I love them. A great combo of sheer, and color, and moisture. I'm a fan. I use fig jam, slightly brown. It's beautiful, get it. 

3. EOS Chapstick, because I'm addicted to great chapstick. As you can see mine has much wear and tear. 

4. Headphones. Walking around campus, I always listen to music, so I need those babies ready to go. Easy access. It's gotten to the point if I'm walking and not listening to music I'm like "What's happening right now...? why is it so quiet?" it's a problem, but not one I'm concerned enough to fix. 

the little clicker thing makes my life easy, cause i don't have to pull out my iphone to change the song.

5. Gum. I love chewing gum, orbit's my fav. I also don't have a boyfriend so I gotta keep that breath fresh.

This'll be a quick updated on all things Rachel.

Seriously, I'm not sure what happened but all of a sudden I was up to my ears in homework and life.
math test, history assignments, a speech, lost my usb, seriously great.
Update: my math test went alright, my speech went well, and my usb is still missing.

There are some great things that happened this week though...
I got new pants? They are great and these ones...I'm obsessed.

I was able to spend time with friends, namely Arielle.
I'm slightly obsessed with her. She's the cutest mom and wife and friend and blogger and human.
Spending time witth the Borcik family is high on the list of "my favorite things to do."
I could play board games with them for days, it helps they have a baby that cute enough to eat.
Update: I'm not a cannibal.

I also went on a photo adventure with with an old high school classmate!
It was seriously so fun, one of those "How were we not friends in high school?" things.

I've been trying hard to get back into blogging because I love it...duh.
But then weeks like this come along, and I'm like yeah....we'll see what happens..
Hopefully over the next couple a'weeks i'll be posting a geometric tee diy, a new font post (i have a million new favorites), photoshop brushes, hairstyle diy, new blog design.


I'm going to California for spring break in a few hours and will be on the road a bit, hopefully I can get some stuff done in the car. And also be warm on the beach.
Side note: The uvu library is freezing always........

I'm so excited to share my trip with you, Heaven knows I'll be photographin that coast line.
I'm hope someone reading this enjoys that i'm scatter brained for days.

Saturday Snaps

Thanks to deer circus, I was recently introduced to the blog Bleu Bird and her "photo an hour posts."

I fell in love, obvs. I secretly was trying to do a photo a day project starting at the beginning of this year, but that wasn't too successful so I thought this could be a good alternative.

Due to a long shopping trip at the local mall with my momma, I only got a few pictures, but I'm thinking this could be a weekly thing I wouldn't be mad about.

I go to college

My first day of school was a tough one.
I think I built it up too much in my mind. (I definitely did.)
But either way I've got high hopes on tomorrow, or next week if things just are tough for a little bit.
This "no job" and "full time student" thing is going to take some getting used to.

A year.

Time goes by wildly fast.
In the words of the great and musical Regina...
"Time is all around except inside my clock."

I can hardly believe the difference one year has made.
I've been thinking about it a lot lately.
Sometimes those thoughts leave me sad, longing, and a little heart broken.
But my ever progressing life makes me hopeful and excited to see where I will be in one year.

I'm trying hard to make sure it is a place I want to be.

The end of the year is one of my favorite times.
I'm so excited to end it well, and start the next year with my feet (I'll also settle for one foot) on the ground.

Polish & Perspectives

I got a new nail polish. Its a dark periwinkle purpley sorta thing.
its also glitter for days. I love it. So much. 

p.s. obviously this cold weather is already doing a number on my hands. 

There's been a lot of things lately that make me feel like I have a new perspective.
I'm gaining more respect for myself, and everything that I am.
My sensitivity, femininity (or lack thereof), sense of humor and general opinion.
Everyday I'm learning how to better care for myself.

I'm slowly but surely realizing what is most important, and what is worth sacrificing to get it.
I'm spending more of time obtaining goals and working towards being the person I'd like to be.
A photographer, designer, future wife and mom, a disciple.

I'm getting happier all the time.
I hope your week is going great.

Oh hey, long time no see.

It's almost been 2 months since I blogged. It feels like a life time.

I miss sharing my thoughts and connecting with blogger friends. 

So here I am to do just that. 

I'll be quick for today. Update you on all things Rachel.

I'm jump starting my life. Trying hard to be productive and get things done.

Trying hard to fill my days with things that will help me become the girl I'd like to be.

I've started doing photography on my own.
I'm working on starting an etsy print shop. 

I'm going back to school in the spring to major in visual arts and communications with an emphasis in photography.

Oh and...
I have a niece due in December, and a new dog.
(i'm super excited about both of those things)

I'm just so excited for things to be taking steps forward.

I've felt at a standstill for a really long time, and that is just not very fulfilling.

I'm a happy camper.

I fail at blogging.

I've gotten really busy lately.
I'm working 40 hour weeks at an office.
Developing new relationships.
& Learning more about myself and the person I'd like to be. (harder than you think)

Sometimes I find myself saying
"rach remember when you started a craft blog and now you suck at it"
and then I feel guilty.
& blogging is just something that I do not want to feel guilty about.

So I'm lowering your expectations if they have not already been lowered.
I probably won't be crafty often. I probably won't post designs.

I'll probably just type words occasionally.

"I hope no one's too disappointed."  She said sarcastically.

I'm 21 now.

it's been a whole two days.
it freaks me out. 

I feel like I need to go out and start living my life.

but I'm not sure what to do exactly. 

I've been saying "I'm only 20. there's no rush"

but now I'm 21, and even though I'm still a baby, I am starting to feel the pressure.

the pressure of finishing school.

and choosing a career that I can support a family with.

putting a ring on this 'ole finger of mine. 

but heaven knows im not ready for any of that. 

I've learned a lot this past year.

a lot of really hard, heart breaking, knock you down lessons.

but I think thats becoming the difference lately.
I'm not just making mistakes, but finally learning from them.

hopefully i'll start learning a bit faster.

I'm very thankful for all the people I have in my life.

I am more blessed than I could have ever hoped to be. 

I have the worlds best family, seriously, they're amazing. 

I'm growing up. Slowly, but surely.

A rant of pointless proportions.

I like taking my dog on walks.
Especially on warm saturday mornings.

The Giant Mechanical Man is my favorite movie.
It also helps that the soundtrack is gold.

"You're not good at managing time."
Says my sleep, and creativity.

Good things come to those who wait.
Good, kind, goofy, cute things.

I'm turning 21 in 6 days.
But secretly I'm still 13.

My life has been changed for the better,
thanks to spotify premium.
Seriously, I don't know how I lived without it.

I'm going to dye my hair on wednesday.
Mostly to prevent me from chopping it off.
(growing out your hair is so difficult)

Pinning is too easy,
And photo-a-day challenges are more challenging than I thought.

"You're not good at managing money."
Says the rebel t5i that I don't have.

The number on the scale is getting smaller.
My clothes are getting bigger, along with my confidence.

I can't wait to bake myself birthday cupcakes.
They will be delicious. and adorable.

I like who I'm becoming.
But it's more like rediscovering than becoming.
Either way, I'm happier everyday.

Eyelash extensions!

I finally got some.
I've been debating for months.
I couldn't be happier.

Lazy me, loves anything that helps me look better without even trying!

I seriously woke up late this morning, and my first thought was, "welp guess i'm not looking decent today!"
Check that! I look all done up thanks to some long luscious eyelashes!
Really, not to be conceited or anything...
but everytime I look in the mirror now I can't help but bat my eyes a bit!

I got them done by my friend, and best friends sister-in-law Nikki!
The process is long,
but what can you expect when you're gluing little eyelashes to all of your littler eyelashes!
She was so great and keeping me entertained,
even putting on an Ingrid radio station via pandora. (always a great choice.)

I'm in a funk

a blogging funk that is.

I apologize. I literally feel bad like everyday.
I get a follower, and I want to say "sorry if you're dissapointed, I've been a sucky blogger lately."
(especially this past week.)

In my defense, I got food poisoning, have been up to my neck in articles, and books on "how to not go crazy working with 15 five year old's", and making lots of photo plans.

I'm doing a craft with a dear friend of mine tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be able to share soon.
And my sister in law is going to have her baby by early next week.
basically exciting things are coming. and i'm excited.

I've got high hopes for this week.

I'm excited to go to work and hang out with my favorite pre-k's.
I did 3 tutorials over the weekend, and went to my sister in law's baby shower.

I re-did my blog and am finishing up another blog design.
Peaches and Lavender photography is meeting with another bride this week.
