Busy bee

I'm a slacker. I haven't posted in like 5 days.
My life right now? Busy.
I'm a busy bee, to say the least.
I'm moving in 11 days. I'm going to school.
Trying to spend loads of time with my best friend.
Designing headers for a few friends and fellow bloggers.
Long story short? my blogging skills will lack for the next few weeks.
(get over it...it'll all be okay.)

Hopefully if I can,
I am going to post a tutorial this week.
Some easy peasy peter pan collars? yeah i think they're cute.
(i'm sorta obsessed)

I know the day's almost through,
but here's a song for you.
(rhyme unintentional)
When you're 19 in Utah and not married..
it's easy to relate to this song.
but seriously, it's pretty charming.

When I Go- Slow Club

thrifty nifty wednesday: jacks to jewelry tutorial

I had a dress to share with you today for thrifty nifty wednesday,
but I thought I'd switch it up :)
I found these jacks this morning at the DI and they got my gears a turnin.

Things you'll need?
-Jacks
-Wire (I used 24 gauge wire)
-Pliers
-A necklace chain

1. Start by wrapping the wire around the middle of your jack.
2. Wrap the same piece of wire around an end that has a "ball" top,
and then wrap around the ball top of a different jack.

sorry! I got a bit ahead of my self... I then cut the wire and started the process over,
but you could easily just keep the wire through out all.

3. After you've connected all your desired jacks together,
find the middle of your necklace and line up where you would like your jacks to hang.

5. After you have found where you want it to hang, find a whole in the chain that lines up with
end jacks, and middle jack.

6. Feed the wire through the chain and wrap it around a ball top on the middle or side jacks
until the chain is tied up again the jack.

7. Make sure all your wire is wrapped around the jack tight so it doesn't poke you.

8. Be super cutesy.

I think you should know I'm now obsessed with wrapping things in wire for jewelry.
You can expect to see more.
ENJOY

Say hi to Owen Wilson's nose for me!

I didn't know what song to share today.
I tried thinking of all my new favorites and I couldn't choose one worthy of your attention.
and/or I was afraid you would judge me.

So I'm dubbing today (and maybe future days?) Movie Monday!
My best friend and his brother made it.
I think it's mighty funny.
(I even make a little feature or two.)
have a wonderful day and week!

Times, they are a changin.

This'll just be real quick.
There's something you should know about me...
I really like photoshop.

I like learning new tricks.
Trying out new feature's.
And that reflects on my blog.
(if you haven't noticed.)

I apologize if my ever changing designs is...annoying.
but it's too much fun not to. :)
I hope you like this one, cause I love it.

Enjoy

p.s. I'm thinking about designing for others for free for a bit?
test the waters, see what I can do.

If you're interested let me know :)

Isn't it ironic

My last post was about how I redecorated my bedroom.
Finally hung everything on the wall, organized everything...
well I'm moving.
post title? get it? yeah..

I'm sort of freaking out. (understatement of the century.)
I'm also still a child? as in I've never lived more than 20 minutes away from home.
I've never used a coin operated laundry machine.
I've never gone into an apartment not knowing anyone I was going to live with.
I'm kind of nervous and scared. (in the competition for understatement of the century.)

but I don't have a job. and I'm not really pursuing my major like I need to be.
and I just sort of need a kick start.
All in all I think it will be good. It'll help me grow up a bit more.

And while I'm not living somewhere fancy,
I've decided that every parent needs a story
of when they lived in a crappy apartment to tell their kids with they get whiny.
I'll make sure to remember every detail.
Plus, I have my own bathroom. I've never had one of those before.
I'm scervited. (scared, nervous, excited.)

I'll let you know how it goes.

p.s. i've discovered i always put (things in parentheses.)

a room for my bed

My bedrooms small, and usually messy.
I have a gigantic bed that takes up 75% of my room,
and more than not, I resent it.
I've also got lots of things..mostly crafty things, but things none the less.

Lately I've been trying to, slowly but surely, organize my life.
I woke this morning with a burst of energy.
and from 9-4 I decorated my room nonstop.
(seriously, I secretly forgot to eat...all day)
I hung bird cages, cut out chalk board paper and tea cups.
I hot glued lace, filled a mason jar, and rearranged my walls a 100 times.

I can tell you now, I love my bedroom much more.
its pretty cute. I'm probably never going to leave again.
(for the fact it's adorable, and the fact my feet ache a bit)

I am really excited to show some picture's to you!
p.s. lots of things in this room will be featured
in the next few weeks for thrifty nifty Wednesdays.
(i'm excited about that too)

Here it is, tell me how you feel about it?

yeah I have stuffed animals on my bed, whatcha gunna do bout it.

I'm in love with my dresser right now.

 gunner's always photo bombing.

tea cup. on a doily. on a cork board.

thrifty nifty wednesday! shadow boxes.
that's what they're called right? i think so...lets just go with it.
I got a pack of 2 via the DI for 1 dollar.
Steal? I think so.

All in all, I'm a happy camper.
I love the little touches of my room that say me.
My holga, I love her. My bunting banner says "It's all love" my favorite song by ingrid.
I have a small obsession with doilies.
Picture's of my best friend, my savior, and my nephew.
It's all very much who I am.

What pieces of your room say you? Tell me all about it.

I hope you like it as much I do!

p.s. follow me, it'd be a fun thing to do.

Tutorial: Bobbi pin container

There are bobbi pins all over my house.
ask my father.
on my dresser, in the bathroom, living room, deck.
everywhere.
yet? I can never find them when I need them.

But one day I had this idea?
"Hey rach, know that giant gum container you keep in your car? that'd be handy for holding things"
and I discovered that it truly was.

and then the bobbi pin container tutorial was born.

Step 1: Buy a huge plastic container that holds lots of gum
*make the sure the lid is the color of plastic you want.
this gum container isn't the one that I used and has a black top.
it's totally fun, unless you want a white one.

Step 2: Eat all the gum. (or don't, whatever.)
*10 points if you can name that movie

Step 3: Pull of the plastic wrapper

Step 4: Pick out a nail polish (or nail polishes) and paint it

Step 5: Fill it with bobbi pins, paper clips, or whatever your heart desires.

Easy right? It's a cute simple place to put your things. :)
I think you should make one too, then show me? It'd be a fun time.

Enjoy

1970's called, they want their music back.

I'm currently not a fan of the radio.
It may be just me, but every song sounds
like disco balls, platform shoes, and afros.
I think it's the variations of techno.
it doesn't appeal to me.
If it appeals to you and you want to change my mind?
please do, if i'm missing something, i'd like to know.

For now I'm going to stick to this lovely tune.
Anchor- Bess Rogers

p.s. I know I said I was going to a tutorial last week...and I didn't. But I'll post it tomorrow, promise.

Solid Ground

I started going to my new singles ward a couple weeks ago.
{at least I thought it was my singles ward.}
I mingled, made a few friends, got invited to a party.
Nope, wrong ward.

The clerks kindly directed me to my right ward
{at least I thought it was the right ward}
I mingled, made a few friends, got a calling extended to me.
Nope, wrong ward.

I'm proud to say I am now in right ward,
but its tough getting bounced around like a beach ball.
I consider myself a friendly person,
but a girl can only make new friends so many times.

I was starting to feel a bummed out.
I was tired of all this "new."
definitely headed towards frustrated.
and then I remembered a few things.

1. God has a plan for me.
sometimes it's scary, unpleasant, and lonely.
but in the end it will make me happy.

2.Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-9

3. This quote from Elder Uchtdorf's talk
"The why of priesthood service" from April 2012 general Conference

I'm nervous for what lies ahead
but I'm not afraid to stumble,
I've got plenty of solid ground beneath my feet.

I was debating. and debating. and pinning. and debating.
(see?)
Well I finally decided. I dyed my hair.
I've dyed it darker, and all over.
but never lighter..and not all over.

It's definately a big big change.
I love every bit of it though.
big thanks to my new sister in law, Chloe.

And so it was.

A week or so ago I decided I wanted to change my blog name.
After much thinking, long brainstorming, and a couple of opinions.
{in the words of Amy Poehler via baby momma}
"I'm making a decision. Okay I've made it. Decision made."
call me sincerely, peachy.

I'm excited.
now it's as "easy" as making new blog elements and it will be done.
thanks friends ;)

have a great wednesday.

p.s. my blog url is changing. I don't know effects it will have.
We'll see.

I looovvveee playing loud music when driving.
I love it even more on sunny days with my windows down.

I'd like your opinion. Tell me what you think.

Sometimes

Sometimes I type really hard on my laptop so it sounds like a type writer.
Sometimes I plan 4 crafts to do but don't have the time at all.
Sometimes I would love a twin instead of a queen bed, but I'm too lazy to put pictures on ksl.
Sometime I put my ipod on shuffle and don't know any of the music it plays me.
Sometimes I have a messy room, but despise putting away laundry.
Sometimes I study all the time.
Sometimes I want to walk somewhere far away.
Sometimes I miss working at the daycare with all my favorite 2 year olds.
Sometimes I think too much when I should just be doing.
Sometimes I write down new blog names and am probably going to change it.
Sometimes I always sing "something in the water" by brooke fraser.
Sometimes I ramble.
but most times I wear mustaches.
