I'm going to see the hunger games. Real or not real?

Real. but i hardly believe it.
I haven't been this excited about a movie since finding nemo.
Just kidding, but seriously.

I'm so excited to see Katniss risk her life for prim.
See district 12 tribute's be lit on fire.
Hear the quiet humming of tracker jackers.
See Rue glide across the tree tops.
Hear Peeta tell Katniss of his life time love.
Hear the countdown of 3...2...1.

This movie will probably just make my month..if not my year.
Just 4 hours & 6 minutes left.

p.s. the host is being made into a movie. watch this, tell me whatcha think.

I used this tutorial from ruffles and stuff. it's definitely my favorite sewing blog, so many basics and simple tutorials similar to this one! :)

p.s. I love my nephew. he's literally the cutest kid ever.

15

1. When I listen to a song I love while driving home and I know I won't finish it before I pull in the driveway, I will make laps around my neighborhood singing my heart out until the song is over...and again if the next song is super good too.
2. Me and Ben named our ukulele clementine after "Clementine" By Sarah Jaffe...cause it's slightly orange.
3. I could literally eat a grilled cheese for every meal; preferably from chili's, sonic, or zupas.
4. Most of my pajamas look like they are made for babies, onsies and thermals, and I'm not at all ashamed.
5. I love my dog gunner, especially cause he has a snaggle tooth.
6.  I grew up in a house full of boys, and therefore eat like one.
7. I add instant pudding into all my cake batter's.
8. I refuse to own a twitter account, although sometimes I'm tempted when I want to change my status on Facebook, but just did 15 minutes prior...
9. I prefer "terrible two's" to babies I could never have a conversation with.
10. I own more nail polish then the average girl, but rarely paint my nails.
11. I listen to Lullaby by Matt Costa every night to put me to sleep.
12. I can't eat beans, or baked potatoes with out a heap of sour cream.
13. One of my greatest wishes is one day to be a girls camp director.
14. I buy ugly shirts and sew flowers on them.
15. I talk to Ben everyday, probably cause he's my best friend.

The odds are in my favor

In approximately 7 days and 1 hour and 11 minutes I will be at the midnight showing of the hunger games with my best friend..probably dressed up as rue.

Hallelujah.

I have a new love for christian rock. When I say this most of you are probably thinking such things as..

Jesus is my friend- Sonseed

Which is great in its own way, no doubt about it, but I mean songs more like this..
(don't hesitate to listen, if you don't love it, i'll give you a hug to make up for your lost time)

Give-Relient K

Waiting for the rain to come-Griffin house

The cure for the pain- Jon Foreman (of switchfoot, he has 4 ep's and they are all amazing)

Yeah that's the stuff.

Cake Stand DIY

I'm too excited about this DIY. As I have mentioned before I'm throwing a shower for my soon to be sister in law in about 2 weeks now. I wanted to contribute as much handmade decor to the party as I could.

This project is super simple, and really easy! The only downside is that it spans out over a long amount of time and I'm not always what you would call "patient."

You'll need 4 things:
-A plate
-A glass vase or candlestick holder (I used a vase)
-A pencil (I used a marker..haha not my best idea)
-Heavy duty glue. ( I use liquid fusion, unlike other glues it doesn't expand and sets in 4-5 hours!)

So step one for you was not step one for me. When I tried to find the middle of my plate and get an idea of how to place my vase, I found that fun little square outline on the bottom, making it impossible for vase to sit steadily against it...

Luckily my father is handy man and had a box full of ceramic white tile squares in my garage! Even if you don't have these in your garage, they are super cheap at home depot! But I would just suggest finding a plate you like with a flat bottom :)
So now we can really get started...

STEP ONE:
turn your plate upside down, and eye ball or measure to find the middle of your plate..where I'm guessing you want to place your vase :)
Oh! Also decide whether you want your vase upside down or upside right!

(I originally was going to spray paint my plates..but decided not to so I could use it for more than a bridal shower...But I also decided to put my vase upside down so that I could fill it with flowers..or even just streamers to help it fit in more at parties.)

 STEP TWO:
Outline the bottom of your vase with a pencil...you'll notice I used a marker..not my smartest idea since the green is pretty noticable, luckily its on the bottom. :)

And don't worry it if it doesn't show up well, since you just need an idea of where to place your glue.
STEP THREE:
Now this one is a toughy... put glue on the inside of your pencil mark and place your vase down on your plate.

STEP FOUR:
Let it set. Like I said liquid fusion sets really quick (by quick I mean not 24 hours), so I let mine sit upside down for 5 hours, then I turned it right side up and let it sit through the night..just to be safe! :)

All in all I'm thoroughly excited about how this turned out. :)
P.s. notice the sneak peek at my bridal shower decorations..I'm excited about those too! :)

So not diy related..
I'm sure you've all seen the golden pictures "Pinned it. Nailed it." Well....

Yeah needless to say...I should find something else to do with my crepe paper.

If you have any ideas via your mind or pinterest..don't hesitate to tell cause I literally bought 8 rolls...so...yeah.

You wild thing..

So for those of you who don't know I'm currently working at a daycare as a 2's 3's teacher.
While sometimes challenging as you can imagine, it's the greatest.

A while ago we starting listening to where the wild things are (the book on cd), and now they request it 3-4 times a week....if not everyday...or 2x in a row.
Needless to say I have again grown to love the story. "Until his ceiling hung with vines and the walls became the world all around" just happens to be my favorite line in case you were wondering. :)  It's hard not to be such a fan when you have all the little kidos reciting the book from memory cause we read it so much. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen....

But long story short.
I rediscovered the "where the wild things are" soundtrack today..
I forgot how much I liked it...not all of it, but most of it.

Especially this one. It's simple as pie, but also just as good.
I thoroughly suggest taking a listen, or watching the movie, or both. :)

The little bro, and little nephew!

Me and Ben took some senior pictures of my little brother, and 18 month pictures of my nephew a couple weeks ago and we fianally finished them all up yesterday!

Here are some of my favorites! :)

TYSON

CALEB

They're super cute if you ask me!! :)

OH P.S. Me and Ben set up a facey account for our photography, We'd both super appreciate it if you would come and "like" it! :) Thanks guys! Click here to see it!

Dear hair, please don't be boring

I'm trying to grow out my hair!
It used to be miles long (in 9th grade) and it's never been the same..

If you've ever tried to grow out your hair you'd know it is basically torture.
It takes every part of my being not to drive to the nearest place with scissors and chop it again.
One of the main reasons is I just get bored. and it being an awkward length does not help one bit!

So thanks to pinterest I decided to spend about 45 to help me spice things up again.
Here's what I made :)

1.

2.

 3.

4.

This one is just a square piece of felt with a rectangle piece of felt in the middle, no tutorial necessary. :)
(i really like bows)

Like I said, It only took me about 40 minutes to make all of these, try them they're way too easy!!

The explosion heard around the hosue

You know whats fun? Putting a 2 liter bottle of diet pepsi in the freezer and forgetting about it.

You know whats even more fun? Taking it out the next day to thaw, having it sit for an hour or so.. then suddenly explode in a 5 ft perimeter all over the kitchen.

It took all that I had not to fall to ground and duck for cover, for I was certain that I was being shot at.

Yeah it was a joy.

Wondering If It's Worth Wondering

I love this little nugget of musical gold.
Stumbled upon it today on my iTunes shuffle and just couldn't keep it to myself any longer.

Enjoy :)

Beibs it's your birthday.

Happy birthday justin.
This is a super big step for you,
as said by a friend on facebook..
"I no longer have a crush on a little girl,
cause he's a woman now."
Congrats on that.

p.s. I loved his ellen interview, check it out if you haven't seen it. (watch it here)

I couldn't resist posting a stache picture, I love a good stache.
